Volleyball Heads to Jacksonville Marriott Classic

FAU will play Jacksonville and Bethune-Cookman on the second day of the tournament. JU (1-2) defeated Gardner-Webb to end its opening weekend at the Gamecock Invitational. The Owls and Wildcats (0-3) will meet in a rematch from last weekend's FAU Invitational. In the first meeting, FAU beat BCU in four sets.
BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team will continue its tournament schedule in this weekend's Jacksonville Marriott Classic. The tournament will be co-hosted by Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida.
The Owls (2-1) won last weekend's FAU Invitational. Liene Mellupe, Katarina Stepanovic and Genesis Viera were named to the all-tournament team. Viera earned tournament MVP honors. FAU will play Coastal Carolina and North Florida in its two Friday matches. The Chanticleers lost two of their three matches last weekend. UNF (0-3) was winless at the Duke Invitational.
The Owls play CCU and UNF at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. eastern, respectively on Friday. Saturday's matches against Jacksonville and Bethune-Cookman are at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. eastern.
