No. 6-seed Owls set for American Quarterfinal vs. No. 3-seed Tulsa

TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 6-seed Florida Atlantic Owls are set to open postseason play on Friday, Nov. 21, taking on No. 3-seed Tulsa in the first round of the American Conference Tournament in Tampa, Florida. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at The Corral on ESPN+.

A LOOK AT THE OWLS
- The No. 6-seed Florida Atlantic Owls enter postseason play at 19-10 overall and 10-6 in American play. The Owls' 19 regular-season wins mark the program's third-straight season with 18 or more wins and the eighth-most single-season wins in program history.
- The Owls are led offensively by American Second Team All-Conference honoree Olivia Hart. Hart boasts a team-best 3.59 kills per set. Anna Hartman and Erin Morrissey are also offensive leaders for the Owls, ranking second and third on the team, averaging 2.70 and 2.37 kills per set, respectively.
- The Owls' assist leaders are All-Freshman Team honoree Emsley Venard and Victoria Hensley. Venard boasts a team-leading 604 assists, averaging 5.98 assists per set, while Hensley ranks second on the team with 510 assists, dishing out 5.0 assists per set.
- Libero Isabelle Northam leads the Owls' back row, boasting a team-best 412 digs, averaging 4.20 digs per set. Hart ranks second on the team in digs with 290, averaging 2.84 per set.
- At the net, Florida Atlantic's block is led by Maggie Allred, Kayla Richardson, and Libby Ashline. Allred has registered a team-best 107 blocks this season, averaging 1.13 blocks per set. Richardson ranks second with 68 blocks, averaging 0.69 blocks per set, while Ashline ranks third in blocks with 67, but second in blocks per set, averaging 0.96 blocks per set.
SCOUTING TULSA
- Tulsa enters the American Tournament as the No. 3 seed, finishing the regular season with a 22-6 overall record and a 12-4 mark in conference play.
- The Golden Hurricane have six hitters averaging over 2.0 kills per set, led by Olivia Vance, Beth Bayless, and Lauren Eitler. Vance boasts a team-leading 2.79 per set, while Bayless ranks second, averaging 2.58 kills per set. Eitler leads Tulsa with 247 kills and ranks third on the team, tallying 2.52 kills per set this season.
- Brayden Hipp, who garnered American Conference Setter of the Year honors, leads Tulsa and the American in assists, dishing out 985 assists and averaging 10.05 assists per set this season.
- The Golden Hurricane's back row is led by Lauren Patterson, who has recorded a team-best 357 digs, averaging 3.64 digs per set.
- Tulsa's blocking leader is Jill Hanson, the American Conference Freshman of the Year, who boasts a team-best 106 blocks, averaging 1.08 blocks per set.
SERIES HISTORY
- Friday's American Tournament first-round matchup marks the fifth all-time meeting between Florida Atlantic and Tulsa. The series is tied 2-2, however, the Owls were victorious in the last meeting between the two programs, capturing a 3-0 sweep earlier this season on Nov. 2 in Boca Raton.
