Volleyball to Host Season Opening Tournament

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team will open its 2013 regular-season by playing host to the FAU Invitational on Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31 at the FAU Arena.

The Jacksonville, Bethune-Cookman and Southeastern Louisiana will make up the rest of the field. It will be the first home tournament for FAU volleyball since 2008. The Owls return four players from the 2012 team and welcome 12 new faces to bolster their roster as they look to improve on last year's 7-19 record. FAU will face SLU in its season opener at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. JU will be the Owls' second opponent on Friday, the match will start at 7 p.m.

FAU will finish the tournament at 3 p.m. on Saturday when the Owls face BCU. The Wildcats traveled to Boca Raton last season, with the Owls earning the match in three-straight sets.
