DAYTONA BEACH, FL - The Florida Atlantic women's golfers finished eighth in their season-opening tournament, the Lady Falcon Invitational.
Anna Wiklund picked up where she left off last season, atop the Owls' leaderboard. She finished in an overall tie for 22nd, with team-best scores in each round, 79 and 82/
Madden Leen was next at 167 (82-85), tying for 36th. Marilyne Cadieux was 41st all by herself at 173 (87-86).
Making her FAU debut was Christina Langer (84-97 - 181), while Kayla DeSuza shot a 182 (89-93).
While the Owls were eighth at 678, Rollins College won the two-day tournament at 591. Their top scorer, Annie Dulman (141), won in a playoff over Florida Southern's Megan Kiley.
The FAU team will have a little over three weeks off before their next tournament, the Courtyard Classic in Jacksonville, October 15-16.
