Daniel Cook, San Francisco Giants, retired following a rib injury.
Nick Arata retired due to arm injury and will be working on a MBA starting in the summer.
Crotta made the Big Leagues
Congratulations to Mike Crotta who has made the Pittsburgh Pirates big league roster out of spring training in 2011. A few days later, he made his major league debut against the Chicago Cubs and pitched a clean inning. Crotta was drafted in 2007 and spent the last four years working his way up the system.
"We are extremely proud of Mike and his accomplishments," said John McCormack, FAU's head coach. "He is a testament to hard work and perseverance. Mike deserves all of his success."
He currently is pitching for AAA Indianapolis Indians of the International League.
