Ranks second on FAU's all-time strikeout list with 292... Tied for second for most wins (23) in school history... FAU all-time top-10 in K's per nine innings (8.54), fewest walks per nine innings (2.19), games started (42) and innings pitched (307.2)... No-hit Campbell on March 31, 2006... Collegiate Baseball 2005 National Freshman Pitcher of the Year following one of the most impressive single-season pitching performances ever at FAU.
As a junior (2008): Made 11 starts and appeared twice out of the bullpen... Held an ERA of 1.96 after his first three starts and 2.22 in late March... Struck out 15 batters in his first three starts... Pitched FAU to victory in a Friday night game with Louisiana-Lafayette (3/14), allowing one earned run in six quality innings... Improved to 2-1 one week later after beating Middle Tennessee St. (3/21), allowing just two runs in six innings... Worked a season-high eight innings twice, first in a no-decision against Troy (4/11) and later fanning a season-high 10 in a winning-effort vs. Western Kentucky (4/25).
In 2007: Made five appearances during the year...recorded a 3-0 record... Went five innings, allowing three hits and no earned runs with eight strikeouts in a victory over Miss. Valley St... Went five innings allowing three hits and one earned run with eight strikeouts in a victory over Cincinnati... Was the winning pitcher in a 9-6 win over no.17 Oklahoma St. going 7.2 innings with 12 strikeouts while scattering 11 hits and allowing four earned runs... Went 6.1 innings and allowed two runs while getting a no decision in a 4-2 loss to Rice... Got a no-decision while going 5.1 innings and allowing three earned runs in the Owls' 12-3 win over Villanova... Posted a 37/5 strikeout to walk ratio on the season... Missed most of the season due to injury... Utilzed a medical redshirt season... Chosen by the Minnesota Twins in the 22nd round of 2007 MLB First Year Player Draft.
Summer League (2006): Finished with 48 strikeouts while playing for the Bourne Braves to rank fifth in the Cape Cod League... Finished with a 2-3 record and 3.64 ERA in 47 innings.
As a sophomore (2006): Selected by Louisville Slugger and the Rosenblatt Report as a Preseason Second-Team All-American... Finished the season with 125 strikeouts to lead the Atlantic Sun Conference and move into third place in FAU history... Threw FAU's first no-hitter since 1994 on Mar. 31 against Campbell... Struck out 10 in the outing and was named A-Sun Pitcher of the Week and Louisville Slugger's National Player of the Week... Named second-team all-conference... Threw five complete games and recorded 10 or more strikeouts four times... His season-high 11 strikeouts came in 6 2/3 innings at Mercer on Mar. 10... Moved into ninth on the FAU all-time list in career wins (17) and innings (215)... In two seasons he has held opponents to an average of 2.23 walks per game.
As a freshman (2005): Ranked fifth in the nation with a 1.70 ERA and is the only player in FAU's Division I history to post an ERA under 2.00... Named to the Baseball America All-Freshmen Team, Collegiate Baseball's Freshman Pitcher of the Year, a Louisville Slugger Third-Team All-American and a first-team all-conference recipient... Invited to try out for the USA Baseball National Team... In his collegiate debut he picked up a win over Cincinnati by throwing 4 2/3 innings, not allowing a hit and striking out six in relief.... Moved into the starting rotation on Apr. 15 at Lipscomb after recording seven saves... Recorded seven wins in eight starts to finish out the season... His only loss came against Michigan on Feb. 28, his first collegiate start... Against No. 6 Georgia Tech he threw eight innings and allowed only two runs on three hits and struck out eight... Pitched eight innings against No. 25 UCF and struck out 11, a season-high... Threw two complete games to close out the season... Had a complete game shutout against Stetson in the Atlantic Sun Tournament to earn all-tournament honors... Allowed one run in a complete game against Virginia Commonwealth at the NCAA Regional to earn all-regional honors... Led the team with 95.1 innings and 82 strikeouts, while holding opponents to a .220 batting average... With runners on base he held opponents to a .176 offensive clip.
High School: Played for Vinnie Tozzi at Deerfield Beach High School where he finished with a career record of 22-7 and more than 300 strikeouts... Named second-team all-state and was a three-time all-county recipient.
