BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team took advantage of the first third of Saturday's practice by focusing on corrections from Friday's scrimmage, which the defense won, 34-24.
The remainder of the no-pad practice moved into special team instruction, specifically kick-off and return. Senior Ross Gornall will anchor the kick-off duties while more than a handful worked as returners including Tavious Polo, Keith Reaser, Blake Bierman and Willie Floyd.
FAU's preseason practice work will continue 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The Owls will kick-off the 2010 season Thursday, September 2 at UAB. Season tickets as well as single-game tickets are on sale and can be purchased on line or by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
Worthy of Note:
FAU's equipment staff has added a sale to Fanfest, offering football jerseys, sneakers, soccer cleats and athletic bags, etc. Fanfest is schedule for 2 p.m., Saturday, August 21 and will provide an opportunity to see the Owls second scrimmage of the 2010 preseason. The event is free and open to the public.
Saturday morning August 21, will be devoted to Football 101.3. Football 101.3 is an opportunity for females to learn the game of football from legendary coach and teacher Howard Schnellenberger and his staff and players. The cost for the day is $30 per person.
