BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team donned shorts and shirts for their final ULM practice. The Owls will travel Friday and are scheduled for a 7 p.m. Saturday kick-off in Monroe.
The day began with special teams work and moved into goal line and adjustments. The two units worked the majority of the time on situations on their respective fields. On the defensive field, Tony Rodriguez had an interception and Nexon Dorvilus had the long catch on the offensive field.
The squad then saw the one defense face the one offense for the two-minute drill. Lester Jean had the touchdown score for the ones. The two offense took over facing the two defense and it was Byron Hankerson who hauled in the touchdown pass from David Kooi. Kooi moved down the field with ease and had several big runs.
Following the second score the team gathered for dismissal, except special teams who remained to review PATs and field goals the final time.
Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger left for the FAU SportsPage radio show hosted by Ken LaVicka. The duo was joined by offensive line coach Dale Williams. The show originates from Hooters of Boca Raton. Calls are welcomed at 1-866-760-3776.
Season and single-game tickets are available by calling 1-866-FAU-Owls or at www.fausports.com.
Worth of Note: FAU will travel with five quarterbacks this weekend.
