BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team took advantage of beautiful weather for their second day of ULM preparation.
"Today was a day for basics," said Howard Schnellenberger, FAU's head football coach. "We covered as many situations that could happen to us and got a lot of reps on it." The first session included kick-off and kick return followed by indo work and inside drills. Seven-on-seven was followed by nearly 50 minutes of team drills where the Owls were put through the paces of first and 10 and long yardage situations as well as the blitz and goal line.
Senior tight end Rob Housler had two nice catches on the day. The first, from David Kooi, was in the back corner of the end zone. The second was for long-yardage.
The Owls will be back in action 3:30 p.m. Thursday on the Tom Oxley practice fields. All practices are free and open to the public. Following practice, Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger will join ESPN760's Ken LaVicka on the FAU SportsPage Radio Show. The show, which airs from 6-7 p.m., will originate at Hooters of Boca Raton. The duo welcome calls at 1-888-760-3776.
