Softball Begins Fall Practice Schedule

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University softball team began its fall drills in preparation for the 2010 season.

Strength and conditioning drills will begin on August 31, will full practices starting on September 28. The teams will also take part in two tournaments in October as part of the schedule.

The Owls will host the FAU Fall Classic at the FAU Softball Stadium on October 10 and 11. Barry, FIU, Indian River State College, Miami Dade College and Broward College will round out the field.

FAU will also participated in a tournament held in Palmetto Bay, FL, hosted by FIU on October 17 and 18. The team will them begin individual drills that will conclude on November 24th.

The Owls will have to overcome the loss of All-Region designated player Caitlyn Bliss, but will return all-conference shortstop Blair Bodenmiller in addition to the entire 2009 pitching staff of Rose Gressley, Kat Stauffer, Amber Barton and Carrie Ann Potter.
