Florida Atlantic University sophomore Marc Abdelnour has earned a No. 77 ranking by the International Tennis Association (ITA) Collegiate rankings.
"This initial ranking is the beginning for what promises to be a successful collegiate career," said Brandon Stokes, FAU's tennis head coach. "Marc continues to work at developing his overall game in singles and doubles with improved practice habits. I am pleased for a quality young man like Marc to be recognized among the nation's elite."
Abdelnour's top-100 rank marks the third consecutive season an FAU player has been among the country's best. The Aleppo, Syria native has posted a 13-3 yearlong ranking and is 8-0 in dual match play which began in late January.
FAU will be led by Abdelnour this weekend when the Owls travel to Florida Gulf Coast University today, and then play host to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on Sunday, February 22 at noon at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton.
