MANHATTAN, NY - Three players in double-digits was not enough for the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team as they lost to Manhattan 73-66 on Monday night.
FAU struggled out of the gate, falling behind 9-0 early on in the first half. The Owls shot 25.8 percent in the half, but trailed by only seven at the intermission, 30-23.
Manhattan's lead got as big as a dozen in the second half, but FAU pulled to within three points with just under six minutes remaining after a Raymond Taylor three, but could get no closer. FAU shot 42.4 percent in the second half.
Taylor finished with a team-high 17. He was joined in double figures by Shavar Richardson (12) Greg Gantt (11). Brett Royster led the team with eight rebounds. FAU will travel to Tampa on Friday to play USF. The game will be broadcast on ESPN760AM (ESPN760.com).
