Owls Split Day Two at Strike Out Cancer Tournament

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic softball team split its two games on Saturday at the Strike Out Cancer Tournament. FAU edged Miami (OH) in its first game of the day.
The score was tied 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning when four consecutive hits helped the Owls (4-3) score two runs to take a 3-2 lead. Alicia Hogl led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo homerun, and an single put the tying run on first base with just one out when Amber Barton was able to induce a game-ending double play. Barton when the distance for her third victory of the season.
The Owls faced Missouri State in the final game of round robin play. FAU trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh, but had the tying run on first base, but were unable it in. The Owls (4-4) will play in the 11:00 a.m. game on Championship Sunday.
