Four FAU Swimmers Hit Seasonal Best in Georgia

Boca Raton, Fla.- Four members of the Florida Atlantic University swim team lowered their seasonal best marks this past weekend at the Short Course National Championships held in Atlanta, Georgia.
Freshmen Mikolaj Czarnecki and Csaba Pek represented the men's team at the meet that featured some of the nation's best swimmers. Pek swam three seasonal bests with times of 1:51.43 in the 200 Yard IM and 3:53.83 in the 400 Yard IM prelims. Pek's 400 Yard IM prelim time placed 13th overall and advanced him to the final round. Pek came back with an even faster time of 3:51.87 in his heat to place second. Czarnecki also hit some of his best times of the season with a 49.97 in the 100 Butterfly and 1:47.40 timing in the 200 Yard Butterfly.
Competitors for the FAU women's team were also two freshman, Jonna Nyback and Ewa Jamborska. Nyback swam her seasonal best in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 23.88. Jamborska posted a seasonal best in two events, the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:05.09) and the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:21.76). In total FAU had nine swimming performances, eight of which were seasonal best.
The FAU swim team will compete again on Saturday, December 20th at FAU Pool, located at 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Oregon State, Northwestern and Sun-Belt Conference competitor Denver will be present to take on the Owls.
