FAU Football to Hold Championship Celebration

BOCA RATON, FL - After a historic season in which the Florida Atlantic University football team became the fastest startup program in history to win a bowl game, the team will be honored in a special ceremony, January 19.
A celebration of the Owls' season, which included a Sun Belt and New Orleans Bowl championship, will be held on Saturday, January 19. It will take place in the FAU Arena at 3:30 p.m., just prior to a men's and women's basketball doubleheader against North Texas. The team will be on hand, and fans will be able to relive the highlights of FAU's phenomenal season and its remarkable accomplishments.
The event is free and open to the public, witht he doors opening at 3 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative New Orleans Bowl ticket autographed by Head Football Coach Howard Schnellenberger. The first 1,000 fans will also receive a commemorative New Orleans Bowl championship poster. Ticket information for the 2008 football season will also be available. In addition, apparel, photos, and memorabilia celebrating the bowl win will be on sale.
