FAU Sends Six to East Regional This Weekend

BOCA RATON, FL - Six members of the Florida Atlantic University women's track and field team will travel to Gainesville, FL this weekend for the NCAA East Regional meet.
Yanique Booth is ranked no. 9 in the region and no. 29 nationally in the 100m hurdles. She will take part in the preliminaries on Friday at 4:30 p.m. The final is scheduled for Saturday at 6:25 p.m.
Friederike Feil will attempt to qualify for nationals in the 3,000m steeplechase, Saturday at 7:45 p.m. Fiel's top time of 10:49.93 puts her within striking distance of the top competitors in the event and ranks her no. 8 among freshmen in the region.
The 4x400m relay team will close out the weekend at 8:50 p.m. The foursome of Brittany Vollmer, Toyria Mattear, Kerry-Ann Stewart and Malika Clary is ranked no. 13 in the region
The top five finishers in each individual event and the top three relay teams will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships.
The University of Florida is hosting the two-day event, scheduled for May 25-26. Tickets are $15 for an adult two-day pass and $10 for seniors/children/students, $10 for an adult one-day pass and $7 for seniors/children/students.
