The series finale between Florida Atlantic University and the University of South Alabama was an offensive battled that finished with 31 hits between the two squads. USA came away with one more hit than FAU and the 11-9 win on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams jumped on the scoreboard in the second inning and FAU (28-17, 10-14 SBC) held a 4-2 lead before South Alabama (22-20, 7-13 SBC) put up nine runs in the fourth through sixth innings. The Jaguars picked up 10 of their hits in the three frames, including a three run homer from Joel Collins for an 11-4 advantage.
The Owls rallied with one run in the seventh after a leadoff double by Billy Degnan and tacked on four in the eighth. Degnan and Tyler Stevens both picked up RBI singles and Daniel Bomback pushed across another two runs on a two out double.
