Jacksonville, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team defeated Jacksonville 1-0 on Sunday.
The victory improves the Owls record on the season to 3-5-1.
The goal came in the 83rd minute when Javier Carrillo beat Jacksonville keeper Chad Comroe high to the corner of the net. The goal was Carillo's second game-winning goal of the season. He scored in the 95th minute to give FAU a 1-0 victory against Binghamton.
The Owls' offense, which struggled early in the season, managed 12 shots in the match. FAU keeper Phillip Lamarre recorded his third shutout of the season.
The match was FAU's seventh in 16 days. The Owls went 3-2-1 during the stretch, with one match cancelled due to lightning.
The Owls will now take some time off. Their next match is Wednesday. October 4th, when they travel to Tampa to face USF. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
