Orlando, FL - Able to muster just two shots on goal, the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team was blanked 2-0 by UCF on Friday.
The Owls (0-2-1) fired seven shots in all, but were out-shot 16-7, including an 11-4 UCF advantage in the final 45 minutes.
Jessica Badders made her first start of the season in goal for FAU before giving way to Megan Coyne at the half. Badders allowed one goal while making one save. Coyne made five saves in the second half despite allowing a goal. Jennifer Manis posted the shutout for UCF (2-1-0).
Hanna Wilde scored the first goal of the game in the 38th minute when she bent a shot into the upper right corner from 25-yards out. Shannon Wing was credited with the assist. Brianna Schooley would add the insurance tally in the 87th minute on a direct free kick.
In her 2006 debut, Susanna Lehtinen fired one shot, but it was knocked away by Manis. The other FAU shot on goal came off the foot of Allyssa Eramo, who led the team with two shot attempts.
The Owls will continue their road trip to Tampa, FL where they will take on USF in a game scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.
