Boca Raton, FL - Florida Atlantic University head women's basketball coach, Chancellor Dugan, has announced the hiring of Cherese Hinckson as the director of Women's Basketball Operations.
With former playing and coaching experience, Hinckson understands how a collegiate basketball program runs and will take over the duties of coordinating travel and managing the progam's day-to-day operations.
"Cherese has come to us with a strong coaching background," said Dugan. "This experience will enable her to step into an operations role, which will allow the coaching staff to spend more time teaching on the basketball court."
After acting as a captain and earning All-Northeast honors on the Dowling College women's basketball team in Oakdale, New York, she played for the Grand Rapid Blizzard. She was drafted in the seventh round in 2003 to the semi-professional league.
Hinckson then spent a season as an assistant at the New York Institute of Technology and Marygrove College before making her way to South Florida.
