Monday afternoon's football practice at Florida Atlantic University begins the final week of spring work for the team. After an outstanding performance at the scrimmage on Saturday, the defense came out and attacked the offense in Monday's practice.
The team culminated practice with a team drill and wide receiver Jason Harmon provided a spark for the offense with a strong block for running back DiIvory Edgecomb.
McKinson Souverain found Harmon a few players later for a 30-yard gain. Frantz Simeon provided the biggest play in the drill when Souverain found the receiver down the right sideline and he ran in for a touchdown.
Corey Small closed out the practice with an interception. A sophomore defensive back, Small recorded six tackles in 2005.
The majority of the players that missed Saturday's scrimmage due to illness returned on Monday. The Owls will play their final spring scrimmage 2 p.m. April 22, on the Tom Oxley Athletic Fields. The scrimmage will be free and open to the public. The athletic department will also have a children's interactive area, will sell merchandise both new and old and will have 2006 season ticket packages available. The first 400 students to the event will receive free T-shirts.
