Florida Atlantic University's men's and women's swim teams completed the first day of competition at the Minnesota Invite with some strong performances. Sprint freestyler, Eren Onurlu picked up second place in the 50 free and diver Andrew Scully finished second on the 1-meter board.
With 10 women's and 10 men's team at the meet, the Owls are up against some tough competitors, including the University of Tennessee, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Notre Dame. Onurlu's time of 20.49 placed him second in the 50 free and Scully put together 280.30 points on the one-meter board for second. Teammate Nick McMahon finished fifth in the event with a score of 261.95.
Graham Greytak placed 15th in the 500 free in 4:40.59 and Jonathon Pinto added points with a 13th place finish in the 200 IM (1:57.13).
On the women's side, the 400 medley relay team of Lindsey Alexander, Ellie Weberg, Jennifer Forcht and Bianca Murphy placed second with a time of 3:47.59. Top-10 individual finishers were Geni Burts in the 200 IM (2:05.24) in sixth and Lauren Shue, who placed 10th in the 500 free (4:55.53)
The meet will continue through Sunday.
