Ellie Weberg returned to her home state and swam well for Florida Atlantic University in the Minnesota Invite. In the 100-yard breaststroke she posted an NCAA `B' cut time and won event with a time of 1:01.95 as FAU completed its second day of competition at the meet.
Geni Burts (Pembroke Pines, FL) also swam well for the Owls and advanced to two `A' finals. In the 400 IM, the senior placed fourth by touching the wall in 4:25.46. She returned to earn an eighth place finish in the 200 free in 1:51.68.
Sophomores Jennifer Forcht and Lindsey Alexander also advanced to the finals. Forcht swam a 56.96 in the 100 fly to place eighth and Alexander touched the wall in 57.33 in the 100 back for fifth place.
On the men's side, Greg Corning swam his fastest time of the day in the 400 IM in the prelims (4:10.38) to advance to finals where he earned an eighth place finish. In the 100 breast, Kyle DeCicco placed seventh with a time of 57.66.
Andrew Scully and Nick McMahon both advanced to the finals of the 3-meter diving event. Scully finished one place lower than he did on the 1-meter board as he placed third with a score of 281.20. Nick McMahon followed behind in fourth place with a score of 262.60.
The meet concludes on Sunday. The Owls then have a month off before they host the FAU Invite on December 16.
