BOCA RATON, FL -- With their non-conference schedule now complete, Florida Atlantic University will turn its focus to Sunbelt Conference opponents. The Owls began preparation for their second conference foe of the season, Louisiana-Lafayette, on Monday afternoon at the Tom Oxley Athletic fields.
FAU played the toughest non-conference schedule in school history this season. However, head coach Howard Schnellenberger knows the importance of playing against quality opponents and feels this will help his young team grow. "You got to play the best to be the best and getting experience against teams of that caliber is a big part of the process."
Linebacker Julian Myers showed his pass rushing ability and speed during one-on-one drills.
The Owls (0-5, 0-1) will travel to Lafayette (1-3, 0-0) to battle the Ragin' Cajuns on Thursday night. This will be the third Thursday night game of the season for FAU, but their first Thursday road game.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.(est) and the game will air on Sun Sports TV.
