ORLANDO, FL - Florida Atlantic University looks to build on its come-from-behind victory against Bethune-Cookman last Thursday when it faces UCF Monday night in Orlando. FAU enters the game 2-7 overall and 0-2 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. UCF is 3-6 and 1-1, respectively. The Lady Owls will be trying to defeat the Golden Knights for the first time in nearly three years. The game tips at 7:00pm at UCF Arena.
FAU snapped a four-game losing streak in its win over BCC. The Lady Owls rallied from a 14-point second half deficit with Sharia Young lead FAU with 19 points, including 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. Jackie Brown added 18 points, and Shontavia Williams scored 16. FAU shot a season-high 52 percent from the field and connected on 11 of their 20 three-point attempts.
Shontavia Williams leads FAU with 14.0 points per game. Jackie Brown is averaging 12.4.
The Lady Owls lead the A-Sun with 67.7ppg. They also are tops with 7.2 three-pointers per game and a .380 percentage from beyond the arc. Over the past four games, FAU is 28-for-61 from long range, a .459 percentage.
UCF has lost three of its past four games, including its last outing, a 66-55 setback to visiting FIU December 19 at home. UCF's three wins have come at UNLV and at home against Belmont and Colgate.
The series has been dominated by UCF, which holds an 18-6 advantage since the teams began playing in 1993. FAU has been swept the past two seasons and is 3-9 against the Golden Knights at UCF Arena.
FAU faces Troy Thursday night at FAU Gymnasium.
