Sean Gourley joined the Florida Atlantic marketing staff in October 2022 as an assistant director of marketing where he will work with men’s basketball and softball. The following Fall, after creatively navigating through the men's basketball historic success, Gourley was named the associate director of marketing.
Gourley came to FAU from Louisiana at Monroe where he served as a marketing graduate assistant from July 2021 through September 2022. While at ULM, Gourley was the primary marketing contact for men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball and softball, in addition to serving as the primary supervisor for the student-worker program.
Prior to arriving in Monroe, Gourley was a marketing intern/coordinator at USF from August 2019 through May 2021. He earned the lead intern role which enabled him to help plan, direct and execute gameday productions for women’s soccer, men’s basketball, softball, and football. While in Tampa, Gourley also worked with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Street Team from August 2019 to February 2021.
Through 2020 and the shutdown of most athletic events, Gourley continued to gain experience by working remotely with CarrSports Consulting. While there, he worked with daily data collection from media sources pertaining to marketing and revenue generation. He was exposed to Paciolan, the Knight Commission and NACMA webinars.
Gourley earned his undergraduate degree in marketing from USF, where he graduated in May 2021. He then continued his education at Louisiana Monroe where he is projected to graduate in December 2022 with his master’s degree in exercise science and sports management. He was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at USF and a NJAA baseball student-athlete at Andrew College, and currently serves as a member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators and is in the 2022 class of NCAA Emerging Leaders.
