Kate Pinkerton joined the Florida Atlantic University sports medicine staff in June 2019 as an athletic training fellow. She specifically works with the softball and spirit teams by providing daily care of injuries and medical conditions, as well as coverage for home and away events.
Prior to FAU, Pinkerton served as a graduate assistant at McNeese State University. She primarily covered the baseball team by delivering injury evaluation, immediate care and recovery strategies for the student-athletes. She also provided coverage for the softball and women’s soccer programs during her two years at McNeese.
Pinkerton worked as an athletic training student at Ohio State University where she provided care to the football, track & field, men’s basketball and women’s rowing teams. During her time as a Buckeye, she acquired clinical experience at Columbus area high schools and sports medicine clinics, as well as served as an intern with the Chicago Fire of the MLS.
Pinkerton graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor of Athletic Training in May 2017. She also recently attained her Master of Exercise Physiology from McNeese State in May 2019. Pinkerton is licensed by the State of Florida and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association. She is also a BLS CPR and First Aid provider.
