John Tull came to Florida Atlantic in the fall of 2025 with more than 20 years of experience driving revenue growth, building strategic corporate partnerships and leading high-preforming teams at the collegiate and professional levels.
Prior to his arrival in Paradise, Tull was the senior manager for business development working under the Learfield umbrella at the University of Florida from 2019-2025. Post COVID, Tull expanded the book of business from $1.1 million to $3 million and was credited with seven six-figure partnerships. He was also instrumental in leading the partnership development and activation across Gators Sports Network, integrating radio, on-site, digital and retail assets for a maximum impact across 36 stations for football, basketball, baseball, gymnastics and softball.
Tull made the move to Gainesville after four years at Michigan State, 2016-19, where he worked for Fox Sports College Properties as the Director of Business Development. While at MSU, Tull led new business acquisitions for three consecutive years, increasing personal sales by 46% while managing and activating high-impact corporate partnerships across Spartan athletics. He was responsible for the development of the Michigan State Fan Fest entertainment project, which increased partner participation by 300% and generated over $500,000 in new revenue.
Prior to East Lansing, Tull served as the Associate General Manager from 2014-15 for Pitt IMG Sports Marketing, IMG College. While in Pittsburgh, Tull’s attention was focused with the gameday and weekly coach’s show broadcast operations as well as managing Pitt IMP Sports Marketing partnerships across western Pennsylvania, integrating a 20-station radio network, TV, digital, and in-venue activations at Heinz Field and Peterson Events Center.
The previous five years, 2009-14, were also in the state of Pennsylvania, but were spent in State College as the Manager of Business Development for Penn State Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports. Tull was credited with increasing personal sales by $500,000, earning 2012 Chairman’s Cup Honors, and ranking in the top seven in company-wide sales. He grew company sales by 45% from 2009-13, securing the most lucrative hot dog/sausage category partnership in company history and managing Pepsi Pouring Rights during renewal negotiations.
His career has not only been at college level but began in 1990 working in minor league baseball for the Midwest League. From South Bend, Indiana his career moved to Dayton, Ohio where he shifted to hockey and stayed for eight years before shifting to arena football and back to hockey until 2009.
Throughout his career, one constant has been his community activism, including organizations like Alzheimer’s Association, Education & Youth Mentorship, Sports-Based Fundraising & Community Initiatives, non-profit leadership and fundraising initiatives for various organizations as well as community engagement.
Tull earned a bachelor's of science degree in history from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana and a master of science in Sports Management from Indiana University.
