James Patton joined Florida Atlantic University in July 2018 as an operations and facilities assistant. He is responsible for the management of games for the men’s soccer, swimming and diving, beach volleyball and men’s tennis programs.
Prior to FAU, Patton worked as a game day operations and productions intern at High Point University and Asheville City Soccer Club. In these roles, he executed operation procedures for the sporting venues and facilities, participated in field and equipment maintenance and was responsible for pregame and postgame setups.
While a student at Western Carolina University, Patton served as a game day operations and media relations assistant for the athletic department. He assisted with logistics of referees and facility maintenance, as well as served as a statistician for a number of sports.
In addition to his role at FAU, Patton has assisted as an event staff member for the Cherubini Boca Raton Bowl, Miami Heat Charity game, U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy camps and the Big South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championships.
Patton graduated from Western Carolina with a Bachelor’s in Sport Management and Business Management in May 2018.
