Allison Newsome joined the Florida Atlantic University athletic training staff in July of 2020 as a fellow with the responsibility of men's soccer and men's tennis. In the summer of 2022 she was elevated to insurance coordinator while holding onto the duties of men's tennis.
Newsome came to FAU after completing an athletic training student clinical experience at UCF where she worked with women’s soccer and men’s tennis. Prior to UCF, the Miami native worked with University High School in Orlando, Florida, where she gained experience working with the boys and girls basketball teams and the wrestling and lacrosse programs as well as girls flag football, softball and baseball. She began her student training at UCF primarily working with women’s soccer, baseball and football in the fall of 2018.
She has volunteered with the UCF football camp, the Orlando Orthopaedic Center High School pre-participation physicals’ program, lab assisting spine motion restriction with equipment removal and was a Miami Dade College volunteer student athletic trainer for baseball from October 2016-May 2018.
Newsome holds memberships with the Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida Student Leadership Enhancement Professional Success Program (ATAF Student LEAPS Program) and the UCF Student Athletic Training Organization (SATO), and has certifications with NPI, STOP THE BLEED, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers by the American Red Cross, and occupational safety & health Administration (OSHA) bloodborne pathogen training. She has also attended multiple professional development programs since 2018.
