Dennis Wilson serves as the Sports Science Coordinator and Internship Coordinator along with overseeing continuing education efforts for the FAU Olympic Strength & Conditioning Staff. He works with baseball, men’s golf, women’s golf, and women’s tennis.
Coach Wilson joined the FAU staff in August of 2018 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Wilson most recently worked at and earned his master's degree in kinesiology from Dallas Baptist University. There too, he worked with the baseball team, as well as men's tennis, men's golf, and men's track and field.
Prior to entering into postgraduate work, Wilson worked as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Maryland, working with Olympic sports. Wilson is an alumnus of East Carolina University, where he earned his bachelor of science degree as a health fitness specialist. As an undergraduate, he assisted with football and all Olympic sports and was awarded an academic scholarship in the ECU Honors College. Also during his time as an undergrad, he led and published a research study on the effect of Post-Activation Potentiation on Division I Athletes.
Wilson is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS). He also holds the Level 1 Sports Performance certification through USA Weightlifting, Functional Range Conditioning certification, and the Level 1 Pitching Certification through OnBaseU.
