Upcoming Event: Swimming & Diving versus Intrasquad Meet on September 13, 2025 at 9 a.m.

Niki Jones-Alvarez has been with the Florida Atlantic University swim coaching staff since October 2004.
"We are excited to have such a quality coach that can make an immediate impact join our staff," said Head Coach Steve Eckelkamp." With her background she will be able to come in mid-season and help the team accomplish its goals."
Jones-Alvarez came to the Owls after serving as the head women's swimming and diving coach at Georgia Southern University.
In the first season with the Eagles, the team improved to earn a third-place finish at the Southern State Championship meet. Guiding the team into the Northeast Conference in 2004, she saw her team finish third at the conference championships and led the team to a winning record in her two seasons at the helm of the program.
While in Statesboro, Jones-Alvarez started and coached the Statesboro Masters Swim Team and kept busy training and competing in triathlons. In addition, she coached Skip Kenney's International swim camps at Stanford University during the summers.
Jones-Alvarez got her first collegiate experience at the College of Charleston where she served as an assistant coach after graduating in 1999. While attending the C of C she was a team co-captain, a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Board and was co-president for one year.
Before gaining her head coaching position at Georgia Southern, Jones-Alvarez served as an assistant high school coach at Maclay School in Tallahassee, FL while acting as the head aquatic club swim coach and obtaining her masters degree from Florida State University in Sport Management.
