- Assistant Cheer Coach
Hector Escamilla joined the FAU cheerleading staff and is an alumnus and former cheer member of the school. He started his career as a competitive cheerleader in 2008.
While studying for his bachelor’s degree, Escamilla was able to multitask a double-major school load and nationally compete as a student-athlete. He was a part of the co-ed cheerleading squad where they were able to represent the university at four college national competitions, placing in the top 10 three times. In December of 2012, he graduated with a BBA in international business and entrepreneurship, and went on to begin coaching competitive all-star cheerleading.Â
Escamilla currently coaches at Cheer Florida All-Stars in Wellington and has worked with multiple teams that have represented CFA at The Summit, one of cheerleading's most prestigious events. This past season, two of his teams were finalists at the competition and the Junior 3 team finished third in the country. He also works with the 2017 FHSAA State runner-up Seminole Ridge High School co-ed team, as the Head Competition Coach.
