Sean Alarcon joined the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball program as a Graduate Assistant in the fall of 2022.
During his first year at Florida Atlantic, Alarcon was part of a support staff that led the Owls to a historic season. Florida Atlantic went 35-4 and advanced to the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament, after having no previous wins in the big dance and only one March Madness appearance in school history. FAU also captured the Conference USA Tournament and Regular Season Championships, which are both program-firsts.

Following his collegiate basketball career, Alarcon transitioned right into coaching. He became assistant coach at Grandview Preparatory School for the 2008-09 season. In his first season he helped guide the Pride to 28-1 record and 2nd place in the state of FL. Following the season, he accepted an assistant coach position at nearby Lynn University for 2009-10. Spent one year at Lynn before returning to Grandview to help guide them to a 30-2 record and state championship in 2013.
Alarcon and his wife, Danielle reside in Boca Raton with their two sons, Parker (4), Ryder (2) and daughter Sidney (5).
