Julio Aguilar came to Florida Atlantic as a student in 2013 and began working with the FAU football program in May of 2017, upon his graduation and just prior to the first summer workouts under the direction of Lane Kiffin.
His role as a strength and conditioning intern seeds the South Florida native work day-to-day with the players in the areas of instruction and nutrition. He also is responsibility of player development through the Catapult GPS system and its analysis.
Aguilar’s position at FAU is similar to those gained as a volunteer at University of Miami and with Nova Southeastern University, where he immersed himself from January –June of 2017 with the hope of gaining knowledge in the area of his passion. Both positions allowed him to experience different styles while broadening his coaching experiences.
That quest for knowledge in the area of his passion began in January of 2014 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where he volunteered as a coach. He worked with track and field, primarily with the 300m hurdles, 400m and 800m events. He also has volunteered as a trainer at Limitless Strength & Conditioning (2015-17).
He graduated from Florida Atlantic in May of 2017 with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science and health promotion. While at FAU, he used his sports knowledge as a broadcaster working with OwlTV and WOWL, the student-run television and radio stations.
