Meet Riley Thompson
- Joined the Owls right before preseason camp
- Provided three punts totaling 140 yards, an average of 46.7 yards per punt,for the Owls in the season opening win over Charlotte
- Called into action four times versus Ohio tallying 155 yards for a 38.8 average, holding a long of 47 yards, including two that were downed inside the 20
- Had a slow day of work with just one punt for a total of 39 yards in the Owls' 42-9 win over Southeastern Louisiana
- Continues to develop and was praised for flipping the field with seven punts for 338 yards, averaging 48.3 yards per punt, versus UCF. His longest was a 57 yarder and three were downed inside the 20
- Asked to flip the field four times for a total 171 yards, an average of 42.8 yards per punt and left two inside Purdue's 20
- Averaged 43.2 yards per punt with a total of six for 259 yards at UNT, two were downed inside the 10 and one was a touchback
- Called into action six times, tallying 260 yards for an average of 46.7 yards, with a long of 59 versus Rice
- Tallied four punts for a total of 145 yards at a windy UTEP, dropping one inside the 20
- Had a monster night pinning UAB to the one-yard line on back-to-back punts...in total had seven punts for 356 yards, an average of 50.9 yards per punt...longest was for 71 yards and he left 4-of-7 inside the 20
- Followed up last week's performance with another big night tallying four punts for an average of 53.8 yards including a long of 70 yards in the Owls' 52-7 win over FIU in Shula Bowl XXI. FIU attempted two returns, only recording three yards total
- Had a busy day with six punts for a total of 252 yards for an average of 42.0 yards per pun, with a long of 57 yards at Middle Tennessee
- Called into action nine times in the WKU contest, with the Owls needing both pinpoint boots and field flipping accuracy. Tallied 420 yards for an average of 46.7 per punt, leaving three inside the 20 and two were touchbacks. WKU returned three for a total of nine yards
