2002: Played in six games despite entering pre-season knowing his rotator surgery did not completely fix his shoulder injury…played through the pain knowing the squad lacked depth at QB…finished the season completing 24-of-61 attempts and three TDs. His longest reception was for 36 yards. He averaged 58.8 yards per game…began the season sharing time…most productive outing was 125 against Bethune Cookman…a game he completed 10-of-25 attempts…threw for two TDs against Connecticut and one against Bethune…scored his first collegiate rushing TD at Eastern Illinois, a one yard run.
2001: Won the coin flip between he and Jared Allen for the inaugural game=s start...was one of two games he would start...played in eight of the team=s 10 games...in his collegiate debut he was 9-of-18 with one interception in the half he was scheduled to play...his longest pass was 18 yards...threw his first touchdown pass in his next outing, versus Marist, a 30-yard connection with Frank Conrad...he sparked the offense against Drake...entered the game late in the first half to throw eight completions in 15 attempts for 135 yards...his longest was a 36 yard connection with Thomas Parker that placed FAU on the Drake 38...his next game on the road was against Gardner-Webb...he again split time with Allen and mirrored the numbers posted...finished the game 8-of-15 with on interception, two touchdowns and 109 yards in the air...his longest pass was a 33 yard pass touchdown connection with Thomas Parker...he missed the final game of the year, due to injury...had surgery on his rotator cuff, just after Thanksgiving and was limited to a non-throwing spring practices.
2000: One of three freshman quarterbacks in the original signing class, all roommates...following the fall he divided his time with one other, due to injury...went into the spring game as the number one quarterback on the depth chart...progressed as he became accustomed to a pro-style game...high school=s system was predominately passing...has good size and a strong arm...ended initial red-shirt campaign with a good feel for FAU's offense.
High School: Played for Jim Sauls at Tallahassee Leon High School...named first team All-State, second-team "Big Ben QB" and was named to the USA Today honorable mention All-Star Team...voted as the Tallahassee QB Club Offensive Player of the Year...set most completions in a game and most TDs in a half with six, both records for Tallahassee Leon...leading passer in the state of Florida with 2,553 yards and 23 touchdowns...two-sport athlete (football and baseball).
