At FAU
Frank Diaz joined the Owls’ coaching staff as an offensive assistant in Summer 2018 was named the wide receiver graduate assistant in January of 2019.
At Independence Community College (Independence, Kansas)
Prior to joining FAU, Diaz spent the 2017 season as the co-offensive coordinator/quarterback coach at Independence Community College. Under direction of head coach Jason Brown, ICC went 9-2 and became Jayhawk Conference Champions for the first time in 30 years. ICC also went on to win its first bowl game in school history.
At West Los Angeles College
Diaz joined the staff at West Los Angeles College as the quarterbacks coach in 2012. He mentored three quarterbacks in five seasons who threw for 15,814 total yards, 165 passing touchdowns in ten games per season and an overall 67.9 completion percentage. Two of his quarterbacks reached the national rankings during their time playing under center and were both recognized as the No. 1 junior college player in the state of California. Diaz mentored Jorge Reyna (Fresno State), who threw for over 3,700 yards passing for 39 touchdowns, 316 completions and only 10 interceptions. Diaz’s quarterbacks lead their offenses to average over 40 points per game, once scoring 84 points.
At the University of Oregon
Diaz began his coaching career at his alma matter as an undergraduate assistant at the University of Oregon under direction of Chip Kelly. Primarily working under Scott Frost, wide receivers coach at the time, Diaz was a part of the two Pac 10/12 championships, two Rose Bowls and a BCS National Championship appearance against Auburn.
