Sophomore (2010): Unanimously vote as team captain...fiery leader on and off the field...appeared in 58 games while starting 56 behind the plate...batted .251 with two home runs (both game-winning homers) and 17 RBI...led FAU with 20 sacrifice bunts...threw out 20-of-55 potential base stealers...ranked fourth on team in walks (23)...hit his first career home run, a game-winning three-run shot in the 3-2 victory over Cornell (3/24)...recorded a season-high four hits in the second game of a double-header sweep against Western Kentucky (4/17)...hit a 13th-inning walk-off three-run home run in the Sun Belt tournament first-round victory over Western Kentucky (5/26)...played summer ball for the Leesburg Lightning of the FCL, hitting .216.
Freshman (2009): Finished an impressive season by being named to the Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team...went 7-for-12 (.583 BA) with four RBIs in three games at the league tournament... finished the year 10-for-21 while starting in five of FAU[apos]s last seven games...one of only two catchers on FAU[apos]s 2009 roster... started in just four of FAU[apos]s first 23 games, but was hitting .308 to earn more playing time... carried an average above .300 for most of the year and led all FAU players with a .373 average... had a season-high three hits twice -- both at the SBC Tournament in May against top-seeded and eventual league champs Middle Tennessee State... went 3-for-3 with a season-high three RBIs against MTSU (5/22) in FAU[apos]s season finale... threw-out eight base-runners in 30 attempts behind the plate...struck out just twice in 87 plate appearances...played summer ball for the Leesburg Lightning of FCL, helping lead his team to the league championship.
High School: The West Orange High School Warriors[apos] starting catcher four-straight seasons...First Team All-Metro Conference catcher and participated in the state all-star game as a senior in 2008...Florida Sports Writers Association[apos]s Class 6A All-State honorable mention player in 2008. . . received identical honors by Panama City News Herald...Sun-Sentinel[apos]s second-team All-Central Florida catcher as a junior...also named first team all-county, first team all-metro and team MVP his junior year...helped West Orange go 25-2 in 2007, advancing into the Class 6A, District 4 semifinal.
Personal: Public communications major...born in Bridgeport, CT...son of Nettali and Blanca Albaladejo...relative, Johnathan Albaladejo, is a relief pitcher for the New York Yankees.
