Farrow Candidate for Doak Walker Award

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Fifth-year RB Leonard Farrow of the Florida Atlantic football team was named a candidate for the Doak Walker Award, announced by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum on Tuesday.
The prestigious award is annually presented to the nation's best running back. Farrow is one of four players representing the American Conference.
A Division II All-American honorable mention at Fairmont State, Farrow made the jump to FBS and the Owls following four successful seasons with the Fighting Falcons. In his 2025 campaign, he recorded 1,438 yards on 8.1 yards-per-carry and 12 touchdowns on the ground. He has totaled 2,652 yards from scrimmage with 26 total touchdowns in his collegiate career.
Florida Atlantic has history with the award from former All-American Devin Singletary, who ended 2018 as a semifinalist.
The Owls' fall camp is in full swing with the season opener set at Florida on Saturday, Sept. 5.
ABOUT THE DOAK WALKER AWARD
The PwC SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors will name ten semifinalists in November, and three finalists, as voted on by the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee, will also be announced in November. The committee will cast a second vote in December to determine the recipient. The National Selection Committee consists of past recipients, former NFL All-Pro and college All-America running backs, media members and selected special representatives. The recipient of the 2026 Doak Walker Award will be announced live on The Home Depot College
Football Awards on December 10, 2026.
The award is named for SMU's three-time All-America running back Doak Walker. Each Tuesday of this season, The PwC SMU Athletic Forum will once again announce a Doak Walker National Running Back of the week.

Florida Atlantic Athletics will host the second annual Duffy's Sports Grill Fan Fest at Flagler Credit Union Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 22. The free event begins at 5 p.m. and is headlined by a live concert outside the stadium and a drone show. Complete details HERE.
