HOUSTON – The Florida Atlantic women's soccer team fell 2-1 to No. 25 Rice on Thursday evening.
FAU moves to 3-7-1, 0-2-0 after falling to the Owls (6-1-1, 1-0-1).
The first 20 minutes remained scoreless, Rice connected with the back of the net in the 25th minute of the first half to take the lead 1-0. FAU held Rice to five shots in the first half, while FAU registered seven shots total.
With less than ten minutes left in the second half, senior
Michelle Horan connected with freshman
Andrea Delgado for her first collegiate goal to tie the match. Horan has registered four assists in the last two games. In the 85th minute, Rice scored another goal to take the lead for the second time on the night.
Graduate student
Megan Hogate registered her first conference start of the season. Her record moves to 2-2-0. Delgado joins senior
Madison Micioni as the leading goal scorers in conference play with a goal each.
