RALEIGH, N.C. – Florida Atlantic men's soccer dropped a 2-0 road contest to No. 5 NC State on Saturday night. The Owls (4-2) hung tough with four shots in the first half, but the Wolfpack (5-0-1) jumped in front early in the second half and never looked back.
After an evenly played opening 45 minutes, NC State scored off a corner kick in the 47th minute. They doubled the lead with a header from close range in the 76th minute.
The Owls finished with 10 shot attempts, but only one found its way on target. The Wolfpack have not conceded a goal so far this season in six games. At the other end,
Alfred Mikkelsen recorded six saves on eight NC State shots on goal.
Florida Atlantic now looks ahead to the start of American Conference play on Sunday, September 21. The Owls will travel to Philadelphia for a meeting with Temple.
