No. 12 Florida Atlantic Travels to Fort Worth for TCU Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 12 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team travels to the Lone Star State to compete in the TCU Invitational on Friday, Mar. 7 and Saturday, March 8. The Sandy Owls will face a trio of top 20 opponents, including No. 4 TCU, No. 7 Florida State, and No. 13 Texas, as well as Boise State.

The Sandy Owls enter this weekend's tournament with a 7-1 overall record, following a 3-1 weekend in Miami that saw the team earn victories over Utah, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Southern Miss. FAU's first loss of the season was a 3-2 decision to host No. 17 FIU.

Florida Atlantic will open the weekend of play on Friday, Mar. 7 at 1 p.m. ET against the No. 13 Texas Longhorns. Texas enters the weekend unbeaten at 9-0. Friday's TCU Invitational opener will mark the first meeting between the Sandy Owls and the Longhorns. The Owls second match of the day is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET against the Boise State Broncos. The Broncos are receiving votes but are just outside the AVCA top 20 and enter this weekend at 3-2 overall record. The meeting will mark the first between the two schools.

The Sandy Owls will kick off Saturday at 9 a.m. ET against No. 7 Florida State. The Seminoles enter this weekend with a 9-0 overall record. Florida Atlantic will look to upset No. 7 FSU, which would be the first win versus the Seminoles in 18 meetings. The Sandy Owls will wrap up play at 1 p.m. ET, facing off against the No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs. Florida Atlantic trails TCU 6-4 all-time, and this weekend's matchup will mark the first meeting in Fort Worth.

UP NEXT

Following play at the TCU Invitational, the Sandy Owls will return to Paradise from Mar. 14-16 to host the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational in Pompano Beach, Florida at the Pompano Beach Pier.
