CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's track & field team opened the outdoor season at the 2025 Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami on Saturday afternoon.

Owls ended the day with four new program records.

QUICK HITS

To start the day, Promise Cross placed first in the high jump and tied the program record in the high jump after 19 years with a 1.70m.
The Owls had three runners compete in the 1500 meter (Kayla Groppe, Holly Arrison, and Grace Mueller).
Freshman Kayla Hopkins finished in the top 5 of the 100-meter dash on the day. Hopkins added her name to the program book, as she is now tied for No. 7.
Constance Pittet placed second in the 800 meter-dash with a 2:15.67.
Hopkins also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in the top 10 with a 24.23. With that time, she put herself at No. 9 in the record book.
Freshman Astrid Baunge finished second with a 7:04.98 in the 2000-meter steeplechase in her first outdoor meet of her collegiate career. Baunge is now ranked No. 2 in program history after today's performance.
Sofia Molina, Richelle Williams, Jada Bolhuis, and Rosa Ten Berg represented Florida Atlantic in the 4x400.

UPCOMING

Florida Atlantic will travel to Raleigh, N.C., to compete in the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State on Thursday, March. 27. The Owls sprint group will return to Miami on Saturday, March. 29 to compete in the 2025 Hurricane Collegiate Invitational.
