BOCA RATON, Fla. – Fresh off the No. 24 Florida Atlantic softball team going 5-0 and sweeping its first series in American Athletic Conference play,
Autumn Courtney was named the AAC Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league on Monday. The Owls have earned a conference honor in all five weeks this season.
This marks the junior's second Pitcher of the Week award and third conference honor of the season. Courtney delivered two of the Owls' three wins over Wichita State, the number one ranked team in the AAC Preseason Coaches' poll and allowed just one run between the two appearances. The Owls are one of two teams in the AAC to sweep their first weekend series of league play.
She also took the circle with a non-conference matchup against Middle Tennessee on Monday and picked up the victory with 10 strikeouts, her third game this season in double digits.
Courtney finished the week 3-0 with a 1.68 ERA and 18 strikeouts. She leads the AAC in victories (12, third nationally), strikeouts (86, 17th nationally), opposing batting average (.171), and has the second-lowest ERA in the conference (1.86).

Florida Atlantic travels to Birmingham to take on UAB (10-13, 1-2) from Friday, Mar. 14 to Sunday, Mar. 16. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST., on ESPN+.
