Another Tight One for the Owls

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's tennis hosted in-state and American Athletic foe Friday evening, but on this Valentine's Day, Cupid's arrow hit the USF Bulls target by a 4-3 score.
The Owls won the hard-fought doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Sergundo Goity Zapico earned FAU's second point. Goity Zapico captured the first set 6-1 and went up 5-0 and held on to win the match 6-1, 7-5. Fellow newcomer Jan Kusy won the Owls' third point in a match that finished with a 7-5, 5-7, 10-8 finale, concluding the match in favor of the Bulls. By a 4-3 score. Every match in 2025 has required the singles to be played out to reach a decision.
