HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Florida Atlantic beach volleyball team wrapped up fall play this weekend at the AVCA Fall Beach National Championships.
Kendall Mignerey and
Reese Edwards represented the Owls in Huntsville.
The duo was seeded No. 54 in the 64-team field. On Friday, Mignerey and Edwards fell in their opening-round match against No. 11 Texas' Lily Dee Davis and Madison White, 21-17, 21-14. The duo finished the opening day against No. 22-seed Florida State's Jessica Horwath and Elena Lam, falling in a three-set battle, 21-18, 18-21, 15-11.
On Saturday, the pair picked up their first win of the weekend, defeating No. 59 Jacksonville's Hayden Garnett and Meredith Mrukowski in straight sets, 21-15, 21-19. Mignerey and Edwards advanced in the 49
th-place bracket to take on No. 62 Houston Christian's Alexa Landmark and Olivia Zeigler, however, HCU took the win in three sets, 22-20, 21-10, 15-11.
The pair closed out play on Sunday in the 53
rd-place bracket, falling to No. 26 Stetson's Katie Camp and Madeline Camp, 21-15, 21-19.
