Florida Atlantic Notches Six on CSC Academic All-District

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Six Florida Atlantic women's soccer players were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Leila Etemadi, Michelle Horan, Madison Micioni, Sloane Young, Stella Rubidoux, and Kayla Siddiqi were named CSC Academic All-District in honor of their tremendous efforts on the pitch and in the classroom.
Etemadi was a two-year captain and one of the starting defenders for the Owls this season. She registered 1418 minutes in the final year of her collegiate career. She also recorded her first career goal and assist, finishing the season with three points. This semester, Etemadi will graduate with a degree in Biological Sciences. Receiving this award marks her third consecutive year as a CSC Academic All-District recipient.
After being named to the American All-Conference second team after a stellar senior season, Horan will conclude her time at FAU with two goals, seven assists, and 11 points in four years. She made an appearance in a total of 70 games with 43 starts. Horan holds a 3.96 GPA as a Business major. She started in all 19 games to close out her college career. This marks her third time in her career being named to the CSC Academic All-District list.
Micioni had an amazing senior season, making an appearance in all 19 games with 11 starts. She registered a career-high in goals (four), assists (two), points (10), and minutes (953). The Coconut Creek, Florida native ended her collegiate career as one of the leading goal scorers in conference play with three. Micioni holds a 3.82 GPA.
Graduate student Young made an appearance in all 19 games for the Owls. She is currently working on a Masters of Science focusing on International Business. Young led the Owls this season with seven goals, a career high. She concluded her final year with 1,104 minutes, seven goals, three assists, and 17 points. Young was named on the American Honorable Mention list twice this season (September 1 and September 29).
Rubidoux is in her second and final year as an Owl. She is completing her degree in geoscience and currently holds a 3.55 GPA. Rubidoux started in all 19 games on the season. She recorded her first career assist against UTSA (September 11). Rubidoux was one of the primary defenders for FAU and finished the season with a total of 1,627 minutes on the pitch.
Siddiqi started in 15 games during her senior campaign, making 19 total appearances. She recorded another assist this season, bringing her total to two assists as an Owl. Siddiqi totaled 1,438 minutes this season for a career high in minutes. She is completing her masters degree in business administration.
