Veltkamp Earns American Conference Honorable Mention

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic redshirt junior quarterback Caden Veltkamp has received American Conference Player of the Week Honorable Mention honors, as announced by the league on Monday.
Last Saturday, Veltkamp continued his assault on the Owls' record book. The QB finished the UConn contest with the program's single-game record in most attempts, completions and passing yards going 42-55-1 for 494 yards on the night. He tossed two TDs, including one for 90 yards, which is the third longest in program history. Veltkamp also added 23 yards on the ground on four carries and two scores, including an 11-yard rush that put the Owls up 45-41 with 2:11 remaining in the game. He led FAU's offense through 87 plays totaling 687 yards. Veltkamp distributed to six receivers, three of which tallied more than 100 yards, becoming the first trio in program history that three receivers surpassed the 100-yard plateau.
