Owls Close Regular Season Against South Florida & UTSA

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic volleyball team will wrap up the regular season this week, hosting South Florida on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m., before welcoming UTSA for Senior Day on Friday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m. at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. Fans can catch both matches live on ESPN+.

A LOOK AT THE OWLS
- Florida Atlantic enters this week's matches sitting at sixth in the American at 17-10 overall and 8-6 in conference play. The Owls will look to bounce back after dropping a pair of road matches at Tulane, 3-1, and Rice, 3-0.
- The Owls' offensive leaders are Olivia Hart, Anna Hartman, and Erin Morrissey. Hart boasts a team-best 3.64 kills per set, while Hartman and Morrissey are averaging 2.71 and 2.41 kills per set, respectively.
- Florida Atlantic's offense is powered by assists leaders Emsley Venard and Victoria Hensley. Venard boasts a team-leading 574 assists, averaging 6.04 assists per set, while Hensley ranks second on the team with 485 assists, dishing out 5.05 assists per set.
- The Owls' back row leader is libero Isabelle Northam, boasting a team-best 388 digs, averaging 4.22 digs per set. Hart ranks second on the team in digs with 278, averaging 2.90 per set.
- At the net, Florida Atlantic's block is led by Maggie Allred, Kayla Richardson, and Libby Ashline. Allred has registered a team-best 101 blocks this season, averaging 1.13 blocks per set. Richardson ranks second with 62 blocks, averaging 0.67 blocks per set, while Ashline ranks third in blocks with 59, but second in blocks per set, averaging 0.92 blocks per set.
SCOUTING SOUTH FLORIDA
- South Florida currently sits at second in the American and enters Wednesday's matchup at 15-10 overall and 11-3 in league play. The Bulls snapped a two-game losing streak this past Sunday, defeating Memphis in three sets.
- Offensively, the Bulls are led by Maria Clara Andrade, Laila Ivey, and Arianna Beckham. Andrade leads the team, averaging 4.31 kills per set, while Ivey and Beckham are averaging 2.48 and 2.41 kills per set, respectively.
- Raegan Richardson leads the team in assists, dishing out 821 assists this season, averaging 9.22 assists per set.
- Defensively, Samiha Foster paces the Bulls' back row, leading the team in digs, averaging 3.85 digs per set, while Imani Heartfield leads the USF block, recording a team-leading 0.86 blocks per set this season.
SCOUTING UTSA
- UTSA currently ranks eighth in the American at 13-12 overall and 6-8 in conference play. The Roadrunners are on a two-match winning streak, earning a five-set win against Temple and a four-set win over Tulane this past weekend.
- Offensively, the Roadrunners are led by Ally Tribe, Gigi Mason, Taylor Gaines, and Caroline Tredwell. Tribe leads the team with 256 kills, recording 2.72 kills per set, while Mason, Gaines, and Tredwell are averaging 2.44, 2.29, and 2.27 kills per set, respectively.
- Megan Hawkins and Ilaria Durante lead UTSA in assists. Hawkins boasts a team-best 471 assists, averaging 5.18 assists per set, while Durante ranks second with 303 assists, averaging 3.99 assists per set.
- UTSA's back row is anchored by Giada Obregon, who leads the team with 305 digs, averaging 3.35 digs per set, while the Roadrunners' block is led by Miranda Putnicki and Tredwell, tallying 0.96 and 0.78 blocks per set, respectively.
SERIES HISTORY
- Wednesday's midweek match marks the 24th matchup between the Owls and the Bulls. USF leads the series 18-5, including a 3-5 record when playing in Boca Raton. The Owls will look to snap a two-game skid against the Bulls, which includes a four-set loss earlier this season on Sept. 24 in Tampa.
- Friday's regular-season finale will be the 13th all-time meeting between Florida Atlantic and UTSA and the fifth meeting in Boca Raton. UTSA leads the series 11-1, including a 3-1 record when playing in Paradise. The Owls will look to snap a three-game skid against the Roadrunners. FAU's only win came on Nov. 1, 2019, when the Owls earned a straight-set sweep against the Roadrunners. In the last meeting between the two teams, UTSA took a three-set match last season on Nov. 10, 2024, in San Antonio.
